Vermilion Press’ Guide to Read Warlike, Howling, Pure

We loved Warlike, Howling, Pure from Contagion Press, it’s amazing you should get your hands on a copy. And also, we found in the text an opportunity to expand on how it might should be done.

Instructions
* Read First Protocols of the Queer Goetia to catch a vibe. We’re being more expansive than just the queer dead here, but this text gives a lot of good ideas for things to do to commune with the dead while holding fast to both living and fighting with joy. Also it’s short, keep copies around, give them to friends, rivals, lovers, those that might listen.
* Do what feels right, invent your own rites. Make offerings, swear oaths, invite the dead into your life, listen to their whispers.
* Ideally Warlike, Howling, Pure should be read aloud at night (preferably during the witching hours) where you feel a connection with the earth and in the company of people you trust.
* Build long term relationships, make oaths, set boundaries. Monitor your dreams, and record them when you wake. Make excessive offerings.
* Practice not being seen or heard, feel the rush of being somewhere you’re not supposed to, doing things you shouldn’t.
* Practice building confidence and feeling fear rush through your body. This is when you’ll need spirits, so get comfortable finding yourself in these situations in small ways before requiring their help.
* Keep yourself and your friends alive. The spirits will not. The greatest vengeance for our dead is to live joyously on their behalf.

To find each other attend (or organize):
* Orgies and Bacchanals
* Vigils
* Celebrations welcoming and observing the seasons
* Worship of the moon
* Being in nature, learning the history and lessons of the land that you struggle on

Remember

“Spartacus’s numbers grew with every victory”

This is not a practice for valiant isolated radicals who wish to be Right and lose.

Fight to win for all of time.

Even if you don’t see the US empire fall, struggle toward its demise, folks have already been fighting for five hundred years what’s a few more generations.
